Animal Ambassadors

About Animal Ambassadors
The Animal Ambassadors (opens in a new tab)will be located in the Ag Building. Animal Ambassadors is an outreach program sponsored by Southern Utah University (opens in a new tab)and the SUU Department of Biology(opens in a new tab). We use live animals to connect with the public about science, nature, and conservation.
Initially begun in 2011, the program has become one of the most active student organizations on the SUU campus with more than 40 student volunteers, 50 events or presentations, and 7,000 audience members each year. We visit schools, scout groups, libraries and other organizations, as a way to give back to the greater Cedar City community in a way that is enjoyable and exciting for both the community and for SUU students. Additionally, we serve a humane role, as most of our outreach animals are former pets or animals needing other help or rehabilitation. Animal Ambassadors is excited to be a part of this year’s Iron County Fair!
