Rodeo Clown: Dustin “The Jester” Jenkins

Dustin grew up with the western lifestyle running through his blood. From his father, Larry Jenkins to his brother, LJ Jenkins, they were all able to share the “cowboy tradition” together. At the age of 11, Dustin was introduced to the rough stock events called steer riding as well as Jr. bull riding and was obsessed. He competed in bull riding, bareback, and saddle bronc for a couple of years until around the age of 13 when he took interest in bullfighting.

Purple Night

(Friday Night)

The Iron County Fair & PRCA Rodeo Board has recently teamed up with the Man Up Crusade® to bring Purple Night to the Iron County Fair & PRCA Rodeo on Friday Night. The Man Up Crusade is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating public awareness on the issue of domestic violence. On Purple Night, all rodeo participants, fans, and support personnel are encouraged to wear purple to show their support for this cause.

Domestic violence (also known as intimate partner violence) includes physical violence, sexual violence, stalking, and psychological aggression by a current or former intimate partner. A child's exposure to domestic abuse is a strong risk factor for transmitting violent behavior from one generation to the next.

National Statistics Show

  • 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.
  • On average, 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States.
  • 10 million children in the United States witness some form of domestic violence annually.
  • Children who witness domestic violence are twice as likely to become abusers or victims as adults.

Promoting healthy, respectful, and nonviolent relationships can help prevent the harmful and long-lasting effects of intimate partner violence. Join us on Friday Night for Purple Night.
